Pros

Company vehicle, paid training, tools provided, other techs are willing to assist, easy job to get. Company gas card.

Cons

They say they give you all the tools you need but if you come across smashed windshield your out of luck and have to contact a veteran tech with tools that Safelite has deemed illegal to use (old school tools that all other glass companies use). Dispatch is a nightmare, they over book, add jobs on during the day and it is rare you can meet all the deadlines customers were promised. Warehouse also has a tendency to give you wrong glass for vehicles although sometimes it is due to customer error. Sometimes you are scheduled out to another safelite store that could be an hour or 2 further from your local and won't know it until that morning, makes your day run even later. Also, it is common to have a windshield job that is 3-4 hours away but yet are still expected to meet deadlines. It's all a bit insane, it's no wonder there are so many negative comments from customers. I might as well mention that the company vehicles have sensors all over, it will even send a red flag to corporate if you don't buckle up just to reposition van or move it up a drive way.

Pros

Working hours, easy to learn, great environment.

Cons

The 1 minute late, rule. If you’re ONE minute late from break, lunch, or even clocking in.. it counts toward your “infractions”. You can only get 3 for the first 60 days. Even if your wifi goes out, you get sick.. anything. It counts.

Pros

The fact that they will teach you and train you to install Auto Glass? Cannot answer this truthfully

Cons

I've applied twice to the tech training position. The first time I thought that I may have made an error? The Yellow Brick Rd location had adds for 18 positions available. I applied again fixing what I thought the issue to be. I was again sent an email that they were not moving to the next step with me. This makes ZERO sense. I was just recently a slot tech out of Horseshoe. I also was a tech for a company that handed a few interior pieces for Amtrak.
