Pros

If you get the right line of report, you will be noticed for being creative, a problem solver, resourceful and for thinking outside the box. And you will be rewarded with career opportunities. Management and teams are engaged and smart, knowledgeable and committed with producing top quality work. However employees tend to be way more ready to work for best-of, than company is willing to invest in. Investment is carefully planned and many areas will suffer from chronic negligence in heir own internal process and system enhancements, just because they are not core to the mainstream line of revenue.

Cons

Director, manager or direct reporting line may not be the optimal at all times and that will slow down your career. Need to build your network and navigate politics to ensure you are placed at a nursery ground and not a burial. The ability ton contribute and truly affect change is extremely conditioned by the direct report ability to run risks and take the leap of trust. The glass ceiling is there when you have direct reporting line up that is less developed than the talent they direct. Make sure you don't end up under a boss that is less experienced, less academically educated, and less eager to risk transformational bold moves, than you are. It may otherwise become very painful. And it happens.

Pros

Friendly coworkers and managers Good PTO Hybrid work schedule

Cons

Frequent layoffs Unreasonable work expectations No upward movement Low pay vs market Some departments don’t abide by hybrid expectations, so your team may be there 9-5 three days per week while another team shows up once or twice a week for only a few hours. Overly focused on AI while the stock still underperforms.
