Pros

+ The idea of the store as well as the concept and product overall is good. + Typical startup perks: Free food, drinks, parties. + 10 days PTO + floating holidays. + Colleagues and managers for the most part were very nice. + Nice office. Top-notch hardware and software. + Pay is typical for a startup, but less than most companies.

Cons

- Company focus and ideas are in the wrong direction. Lots of time was wasted chasing after the pie in the sky ideas, and after the wrong type of clients and consumers. - Focusing on and fixing the obvious was ignored in favor of irrelevant and pointless projects while longstanding issues and problems were constantly ignored and left to fester. - Despite giving appearances of such, management did not listen to suggestions. - More of a stilted corporate environment than that of a startup. - Despite giving appearances of such, its very much a top down/trickle down management. - Zero and disallowed communication between the US and European offices beyond the CEO. Leads back to previous post on top-down management. - Very high employee turnover. Hardly anyone from the original team from one year ago is there. You will see lots of people quit during your time there. -No clear promotion or raise track for employees in some divisions and departments.

Pros

Co-workers, free bananas & oranges make the days bearable!

Cons

- No sense of direction of where the company's heading - Changes being made every day and then the reason is because the company is a start-up (but really? see my point number 1) - Lots of empty promises (usually will tell you all the great things about the company in the interview and makes you want to be a part of it, but reality state otherwise) - No planning in all sort of business activities (campaigns are executed without proper planning and proposal and with no budget. very sloppy.) - Managers are incompetent and not suitable with CTO, CMO, etc title. (nobody knows how they're hired! And they are typically not very tech-savvy, they're stubborn, not very creative and they have no experience in the tech industry) - The company also claim they offer competitive salary, but truth is, they give lower than the average in the market (so don't be fooled!). - Company also claim they operate in the start-up environment but they actually time your arrival and departure to and fro the office. No flexibility. No freedom to express individual personality and creativity in work-related activities. They just want you to be robots. - Always too desperate to hire new employees to the point they don't test candidates qualifications for the positions. -Most of the time the employees are the ones that do all the actual work including the work of their managers, so the managers get to play pingpong and chat in the kitchen.
