Pros

- Being a builder is a good way to start your I.T career if you are young - cant think of anything else

Cons

The product we built here was genuinely great. There’s real talent among the people who work (or used to work) at this company, and what we accomplished together is something I’ll always be proud of. But the day to day experience of working here told a completely different story, one of constant stress, lack of appreciation, and a toxic leadership culture that drove great people away. From the start, it felt like no matter how hard you worked or how much you cared, it wasn’t enough. Recognition was rare, if it happened at all. Instead, people were pushed harder, second guessed, or ignored completely. Upper management created an environment where you were always on edge, always under pressure, and never truly supported. Some of the smartest, most capable people I’ve ever met worked here and I watched them either leave or get pushed out because leadership couldn’t value or even recognize what they brought to the table. Instead of empowering the team, upper management constantly micromanaged, prioritized their own image, and shut down any real feedback. There was a complete lack of trust from the top down. Ideas were dismissed. Morale was low. And the culture slowly drained the motivation out of people who once cared deeply about what they were building. It wasn’t the product that failed us it was the people in charge. It’s honestly sad. This company had so much potential, but it’s being wasted by leadership that refuses to listen, grow, or lead with any real sense of respect.

Pros

The core mission of the company - to assist Law Enforcement and to protect victims of abuse and trafficking - is a noble one, and one that, despite SUMURI LLC's many shortcomings, shouldn't be dismissed. The vast majority of ground-level employees are always honest, hard-working people with a positive attitude (which, unfortunately, always ends up getting soured over time). SUMURI LLC is never open at night, on weekends, or during any Federal Holidays, so there is a true work-life balance. Dress code is very lax so long as you don't wear anything obscene. Occasional pizza parties, and an annual Holiday party in the Wintertime.

Cons

This company is only 15 years old. On average, the company only houses between 20 to 50 people at any given time. Only 3 are in the highest echelon of Management. In the last 5 years, 69 people came and went: 16 were let go, and 53 quit. Those that quit all cited the same reasons as every other negative review here, even those dating as far back as possible: micromanagement, mismanagement, lack of trust, shifting goalposts, favoritism, passive-aggressiveness, piled-on responsibilities with no extra pay, and unrealistic expectations. So in 15 years, nothing has changed or improved. SUMURI LLC's greatest folly is its uncanny ability to hire incredible people, whittle them down, and end up pushing them back out the door. Take this information as you will, and apply at your own risk.
