Pros
Good if you like a boys club atmosphere and want to keep your head down. I was lucky enough to have an open and honest line of communication with my supervisors.
Cons
I wouldn’t recommend STM to anyone that has self respect and is looking for any growth within a company. Absolute definition of a boys club, and your feedback may seem to be wanted, but it’s not.
The COO is a complete hot head and has a major lack of empathy for the US employees he oversees, and only cares about money. The lack of communication across departments, especially continents, is difficult as they are very divided. The morale is low and the vibe is tense after losing majority of the marketing team, along with those who the COO just didn’t like/vocalized opinions.
The work from home policy is absurd. Since it is an international company, communicating via Zoom was occurring pre-covid, and many top level execs (favorites) along with a handful of other US employees are allowed to work remote.
I wish I listened to my gut when first interviewing with the annoying recruiter and ran for the hills then.
No 401k, high cost health benefits, no real HR, and no early release during holidays.
