Pros
Strong history / great back story / private (family-based) company.
Stihl family has been a force of good in the creation of this brand and once great culture.
Well-known brand / strong marketing / strong field support.
Good pay / compensation / benefits.
Good opportunity to be noticed.
Cons
Top management team is not in tune with the market or their team and often holds unrealistic expectations. Dishonest statements made are disheartening and do little to inspire.
Management is more consumed by daily politics than mid/long term strategy and employee cultivation.
Culture in transition with primary focus on battery and global harmonization but it comes at the expense of diluting the brand image and core values that made it a leader in the US market.
Decreased emphasis on quality, individualism, team building, and dealer strength.
Infrastructure is unstable with high turnover of knowledge experts and older systems / processes.
Experience once was highly regarded but veterans are no longer appreciated and most were pushed / phased out over the past few years.
Business outlook is concerning.
