Pros

There are very few 'pros' about this organization. One positive thing about working here was the wonderful experience of working with the students. They can be some of the best human beings around given the right chances and proper support. Also some of the teachers who work(ed) here are some truly brilliant people. Most of these teachers are gone by now. I can't speak to the recent group, but I know there are very few of the good ones still around at this school.

Cons

-Micromanagement with unproven or disproven educational methods and policies. -Unrealistic workload given to teachers in positions that they aren't prepared to fully execute. -Preys on first year teachers or students in Teach for America who don't know any better about well-functioning school organizations. -Preys on vulnerable, international families by convincing them that the school's mission in antiracism means that they will receive the best educations possible (this is not true, they will not receive the best educations possible) -No support given by leadership and network in addressing student needs. -Questionable financial management with new positions appearing in network leadership but teachers and students left with nothing.

Pros

Students have natural potential that can be developed with strong leadership, high expectations, and execution. Also, the EL model is second to none. With great execution, this model will see great results. (English classes have two teachers: Core ELA teacher and a EL specialist)

Cons

Learning Stage Leadership Somewhat Incompatible Systems Compliance Oriented (Good/Bad) Inexperienced Teachers (Biggest issue) Poor Benefits Low Student/Parent Accountability
