Pros

SSP has a good management staff. They will hire people who have no experience. Machinists work four tens a week benefits are decent. Business is picking up and the company continues to grow in revenue.

Cons

Pay is a little low for long term and skilled employees. The training to become more skilled and advanced in the trade is minimal here. They essentially get you to understand the basics of setting up and operating the equipment they utilize and that’s where training ends.

Pros

The company has strong technical capability and genuinely talented individuals. The owner has an excellent vision for the future and a clear passion for the business. There is real long-term potential, and with the right leadership structure in place, the organization could become something truly great.

Cons

The current work environment is deeply unhealthy. There is a persistent culture of poor communication, unclear expectations, and reactive leadership that creates unnecessary stress across departments. HR support is particularly weak. Concerns are not handled professionally or constructively, and processes often feel inconsistent or mismanaged. Rather than resolving issues, interactions with HR can escalate tension. Supply chain and planning are significant weak points within the organization. High turnover in these roles reflects deeper structural and leadership challenges that have not been addressed. There is a reason these positions are consistently posted and frequently vacant. The instability in this area impacts broader operations and morale.
