This company (headquarters only) is run like a money making university start up, except it's not a start up and it's not in a university. And it's questionable how long the money will hold out, as this type of paper media is quickly becoming antiquated. Boots on the ground, pinching pennies, low wages, running around in a panic mentality mode, having no life working to fill content in a paper you wouldn't line your bird cage with IMO. Struggling to sell ad space and provide any meaningful content is evident once you pick up a copy and see for yourself. Lets face it when you have a paper full of random people smiling, at best it's narcissistic and only appeals to the people who are in it. There is no news worth reading (by design) and the "events" are made up of nothing more than lame photos of people no one really cares about. Even the staff doesn't want to look at it. If people are skimming the content as a visual publication, then reading the event descriptions are secondary, right? So who's going to "read" the ads? It's not a newspaper its a photo archive. Extremely low distribution numbers as it's very centralized by location so what's the point? The CEO micromanages and is very unprofessional and acts like an immature guy who's got more money than class (just go to the Christmas party and see him in action). This stressful environment that he has created is unhealthy for those who work there. But where else you going to work in Newmarket. So employees laugh to be polite and keep their jobs, as he is unaware that he act inappropriately because he thinks he's funny and its his sandbox so he can do what he like no matter how ridiculous it is, and believe me its gets pretty immature at times. Don't believe me? Ask the employees at head office what he's really like or pick up the paper and decide for yourself. If you believe it's a quality publication you wish to support, and you enjoy sophomore humor, than hitch your beer wagon on this student presidents platform and hold on tight.
