Pros
The company has a chequered past, and previous reviews show this. However since late 2021 the company has a new management team and is making real progress. Having an independent HR has made a huge difference, and the new MD is clearly making employee welfare a top priority. New training, new staff, flexible working and new incentives, it's really good to see all the positive change! 6 months ago I would not have recommended SMi at all, but now i would, I think people will realise quickly it is a completely different company now.
Cons
There are still relics of the old company, including outdated equipment/software, and a lack of experienced staff, however hopefully this will change with time! Job can be fast-paced and stressful sometimes, but its a given in a commercial business lie this.
