Pros
SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers) is a large somewhat international trade association who serves its members, participants to its trade shows and subscribers to it many publications, so you would expect the people to be very nice and accommodating and they are. Everyone wants to serve and they do.
Cons
Management, starting with the board, is stuck in the past. Old style thinking and old style management practices. There are some big strategy decisions that have to be made to keep SME relevant to its members and customers. But, I'm talking about the management practices from HR to accounting/finance to legal. Management style seems to be a big part of the issues.
