      Good way to start in IT - Field Service Technician SMARTECH Employee Review

      Pros

      It's a good start in the it field. You'll receive tons of experience tearing down servers and desktops/laptops. Renegotiate server rates after you become certified. They won't tell you it's worth more than the minimum.

      Cons

      Contractors receive no reimbursement for use of your vehicle/mileage. Employees get very little. Pay is not great.

      Pros

      Extremely friendly people, comprehensive training and knowledge base and you can create your own hours

      Cons

      $25 per job, better hope you can get the job done is less then 2 hours or you really start to see your compensation suffer
