Pros
There are a lot of good people at Schlumberger, and advancement (for the technical population) is very much in your own hands. The technology is very good, and it's a great place to work if you want to push the envelope and make contributions to the industry.
Cons
The company continues to grow in scope, and I think it's becoming a problem. Managing as many people and products as SLB has seems to be problematic, because we are constantly undergoing some new type of restructuring and/or management change. You are 100% expendable and need to be a top performer (or well connected) to keep your job if there's a downturn.
