      - decent benefits and pay - bonus a percentage of client ticket. Larger the job/ticket the more bonus you make.

      Cons

      - Reduced vacation from 3 weeks to 2 weeks - reduced schedule from 2:1 to 3:1 - living in middle of nowhere places usually - long hours as solo engineer on land. Offshore they have 12 hour shifts. - Toxic field work environment. Oilfield is cutthroat business.

      the promotion system or bonus system does not encourage hard work or innovation. hard work is not rewarded.
