Pros
I have been interning at SH1FT since August of 2020. Working as a graphic designer at SH1FT has been a fun and exciting experience. As an intern, I was looking to gain experience in new digital platforms and receive mentoring in my field. The founders of SH1FT have involved me in a wide range of projects from creating advertisements for their clients to helping with branding and illustrations. They provide invaluable feedback about my work which has helped me to grow as a graphic designer. Additionally, the projects are varied and challenging, making for a very fulfilling work experience and a work product which I feel proud of.
Even though we are working remotely, SH1FT builds a strong sense of community through their online group meetings and they encourage collaboration amongst their interns and staff. I enjoy the culture at SH1FT with everyone being very friendly and hardworking.
I consider SH1FT to be a great company that has played a major role in my growth as a designer, and I look forward to continuing to work with them.
In sum, I am very glad that I made the decision to accept the opportunity to work with the talented people at SH1FT.
Cons
The only challenge with the relationship is time zone, me being in the US and SH1FT being in Canada and France, but we’ve managed to work our schedules so that we are able to have frequent live communication which is great.
