Pros
100% Employer paid benefits (medical, dental, vision), amazing 401K contribution, a strong mission to help Michigan Public Schools, and leaders really care about the staff and how we are doing. Because of the small company size, I also have more access to senior leaders, so that is really nice, and I have great co-workers. They handled COVID really well and are very flexible. We have been having all staff Zoom calls every 2-3 weeks since early in the lock down to make sure we all know what is happening at the company. I feel safe with all of the precautions and plans.
Cons
The company is small so it makes it difficult for career growth, but I am able to do things that wouldn't have happened in larger organizations. There was a re-org last year that I was upset about at the time. However, after some time has passed it seems that it was helpful. We are no longer working in a sheltered environment of one leader, and I feel more connected to the entire organization.
