Pros

Event based work, flexible schedule, and ability to request blackout days. Leaving early is generally OK. The management is very nice and lenient. The call out and absence policy is generous.

Cons

Work is unfulfilling but keep in mind you're working for a convention center. You're there to increase sales, particularly in the big pharma industry. If there aren't events, you don't have work, so you must plan time off around the slow periods. Most part time workers don't get benefits. The employees can be very vengeful or petty.

Pros

Working with the staff at the convention center was an absolute pleasure. I could meet people from different walks of life and we would be a tight knit group that really cared to ensure events would go smoothly and with out any incidents. Supervisors were a joy to be around.

Cons

Perhaps the biggest one is parking. At the time we had to pay to park in the underground lot that was not accommodated and had to pay out of pocket

Pros

Higher level positions can pay-well if you're a recent hire, then career growth stops. Also a free cafe.

Cons

Parking, management & supervisors, career growth, 24/7 position so you get no choice when you work. I was also given a large leadership role without increase in wages just a lot more responsibility and blame.
