Pros
The access to upper level management at Scout is unparalleled. The president and other top level executives know everyone's name (maybe even their pet's names too) and really make time to talk to every employee, almost daily. There is a strong sense that management really cares about employees' happiness and professional development. New business is a huge focus at Scout, and anyone is welcome to assist on pitches, regardless of level or department. It is an enormous opportunity for professional growth and development that you can't find at many other agencies.
Cons
As others have noted, there have been growing pains as the agency attracts more and more new business. Process struggles that were not as noticeable at a small shop have become more obvious with growth. Management is working hard to address these issues, but at times, change can be slow and frustrating. Roles are not as clearly defined as they tend to be at other agencies. Employees are driven and eager to help out with initiatives not always associated with their role. On the positive side, these additional opportunities can be invaluable professional development; however, they can also lead to burn-out as really talented individuals end up being pulled in many different directions at once.
