Pros

None; anything that could be perceived as good is carefully disguised because Senior Management and especially the Owner/President have ulterior motives for everything they do.

Cons

No trust for anyone. Constant spying. No work flexibility. Treat employees like children rather than professionals, which results in getting the bare minimum out of everyone. An environment of mild to very open threats. Employees are fearful of losing their jobs if they speak out. Management and supervision are constantly throwing each other and subordinates under the bus. There is open humiliation and mistreatment, from the Owner on down. There is no desire to improve. An employee opinion survey was completed a couple of years ago and the Owner did nothing about it and falsified the results. A couple of managers have been guilty of harassment and predatory behavior. One is finally gone but two are still employed. An indication of the how much they care about subordinate employees. Sorry only goes so far! Too bad some employees don't force the issue and get true justice. A good SCAFCO employee/manager is one that can be controlled and manipulated by the Owner and the rest of upper management. Many positions are overpaid based on the market, just in hopes of retaining them longer than they would otherwise. Turnover is high and constant. There are ads in almost every Sunday paper. It would be difficult to find a worse place to work in Spokane County. If you are considering working there or have received an offer, talk to someone who has been there and then RUN AWAY!!

Pros

I finally get to work for a company that knows where it’s headed!

Cons

Nothing matters to me except the long-term career prospects, and I see those in spades here!

Pros

If you work at HQ, your day-to-day experience at SCAFCO/The Stone Group will depend heavily on your team. Mine happened to be amazing, which was enough to keep me at the company for nearly three years. Work-life balance and health insurance were both great.

Cons

Top-level leadership can be temperamental and prone to micromanagement. I was fortunate to have a manager who successfully insulated my team from the worst of it, but be aware that if you or your workstation are within eyeshot of the CEO at any point, you are under more scrutiny than you think. I was reprimanded for things like having a spare pair of shoes tucked under my desk and arriving at the fitness center two minutes into my lunch hour. Compensation was low, PTO was minimal, and leadership staunchly refused to allow remote work for most corporate employees, even during the pandemic.
