Pros

None when you're on a zero hours contract. I tried to think of something, honest. I had to give one star as zero is unfortunately not an option. The security Gurkhas are polite.

Cons

Management (team leaders) regularly threatens employees with little catch phrases such as " you might not be here tomorrow", or "we suggest you to work harder as we are letting go of 20 people on Friday". Some of these team leaders are prime examples of what a bully is. Meanwhile, relatives and friends of the same team leaders are given the easiest tasks. The recruitment company, Transline (same that supplies workers to Amazon) lures employees with job adverts showing £7.80/hour salary and full time employment. You're then being told, zero hours at minimum wage, take or leave. No training, swim or drown. Mr He who can not be named (transline HR and recruitment on site) enjoys to take staff in a small closed room and taunt them: "Ohhh he did not know he's on zero hours, that's so, soooo saaaad". Miss She who can not be named (transline HR and recruitment on site) seems to favour her [same nationality] friends rather than other workers when it comes to giving working hours. Her grasp of English is poor, not sure how she even landed the job. "Don't call us to ask about hours, we will call you next week". Hey ho, the following week her facebook account shows her on holiday in Poland. Was told by other workers to "slow down, you're making us look bad." So in essence, damned if I work properly, damned if I don 't. Break times are mostly spent walking in and out of the maze that is this factory. Staff who are not issued a pass are expected to come 20 minutes early to check in before each shift, or face being pushed at the back of the queue, and lose an hour's worth of salary by being late a couple of minutes. This represents at least 1 hour 40 minutes of unpaid time per week. 2 toilets for everyone, so you might spend your entire break time just to get there. Not great when one is out of order, I am glad we did not have two simultaneously out. The only drinking water container is empty most of the time, with a constant average of 10 empty containers next to it. The vast majority of the workers do not have access to a locker or safe place to store their belongings. So in effect, there is a big pile of bags in the "canteen". No pockets on the ill fitting uniform either, which you have to pay for. It's taken out of your wages so in effect, you do not even get minimum wage.
