Unsafe, Unorganized, and Unresponsive Management - Warehouse Associate Ryder System Employee Review

Pros

A steady paycheck if you’re desperate. You’ll quickly learn what not to accept in a workplace.

Cons

Management is unresponsive — multiple transfer requests to HR and managers went completely ignored. Supervisors, managers, and safety staff spend more time driving golf carts and pretending to be important than actually addressing issues. Morning meetings are filled with pointless stretching and empty threats like “don’t leave too early for break, we’re watching,” followed by constant pressure to “hit numbers” for the exact same low pay. Mandatory overtime is forced on everyone. It wouldn’t even be needed if they hired competent staff, paid people fairly, and organized the workflow. Locked bays and aisles create bottlenecks that pile up work instead of clearing it. The facility is filthy and unsafe: poor air quality, machines never sanitized, workers don’t wash hands after the bathroom, no accessible water in extreme heat. OSHA standards are blatantly ignored. Health and well-being are treated as disposable. Getting sick here is almost guaranteed.

Pros

You get to work on real supply chain problems that actually matter to operations, not just theoretical stuff. Remote flexibility is solid and the work-life balance is fair. The tech stack is modern (Snowflake, Azure, Power BI) and if you're someone who takes initiative, you'll get the chance to own things end-to-end. The people you work with day-to-day are genuinely good and most teams have a collaborative culture.

Cons

Growth from senior level and beyond can be painfully slow even when you're clearly doing the work above your role. Leadership and org changes happen often which resets your visibility and momentum with whoever is advocating for you. Some areas still lack clear ownership so things fall through the cracks or land on whoever is willing to pick them up. Pay doesn't always reflect the scope of what you're actually doing.
