Pros

the people seem okay and fun, you drink a lot?, you get 3 week vacation but it doesn't start until you finish 6 months of employment (which not many last that long...)

Cons

unprofessional atmosphere (the CEO would yell at her fellow workers and even clients in the office), long hours (even though it's 9-6, they expect you to stay later and if you leave at 6, they will judge you), a lot of hiring turnover (usually hired for 2-9 months), unorganized office, no real HR department (so the office gets away with murder, practically), the CEO is basically PMSing (she would be cheering one minute but curse you out 5 minutes later, even if it wasn't your fault. The best imagery I can show is that when one client was leaving, after the CEO was cursing him out at one point of the meeting regarding fees, awkwardly asked if he should say good bye to her, which another person said you could if you like not having a head. THIS WAS TO A CLIENT, WHO PAYS THE COMPANY FOR THE SERVICE. This is one company is that would be a huge mistake to have on your resume.

Pros

A lot of hands on experience. Fast paced environment.

Cons

- One of the most disorganized firms you will ever find. Lacks vision, overall strategy in terms of how to grow the firm and how to nurture employees. - Poor work life balance. Unrealistic and unreasonable expectations of junior employees without any fair compensation. - Highly unprofessional senior management/support staff. Senior managers will often times have "favorites" and also people they will "pick on" to do more work. Support staff likes to gossip and treat people poorly, often yelling at you or giving you negative attitude for no reason. Certain senior managers dress and act inappropriately as well. - Incompetent senior managers. Not all managers are, but most aren't qualified to be in the position they are working at or managing others. CEO of firm is short sighted and plays favorites and will keep certain managers around despite their lack of ability/effort. - Poor/unfair compensation. Starting salary was below market value, and also much lower than coworkers who have similar experience. Favoritism clearly at play. - Too much internal politics. Navigating this office is like a minefield. Certain people are favorites, certain others are picked on, certain people have to be mollified, etc. Just way too much to make this a productive workplace. - Low career advancement opportunity. Senior Managers hold steady, junior level staff get worked to death and won't get promoted or get a raise. No profit sharing here, senior managers keep it all. Senior managers will preclude junior managers from pitching new biz, for fear that if the client is brought on with the help of junior staff, that they may have to share the retainer with them.
