Terrible work life balance, culture (family run) and underpaid - Marketing Ruka Hair Employee Review

Pay wasn't terrible as a uni student. The managers were cool.

It felt like those on the shop floor were "disrespected" at times by people in office. Very us vs. them. Sometimes had issues with pay. Communication wasn't always the greatest. Needed better things in place for Black women who were working on the shop floor and sometimes had people making fun of the hair textures on display.

Given lots of responsibilities from day 1 with limited hierarchy and aren't micromanaged. Very diverse team - opposite to the whole 'tech bro' scene. Great mission and values.

It's super fast paced and can be long hours but not unexpected for a venture-backed start up which has big goals.
