Pros

Good starting salary, casual work environment.

Cons

Insufficient training, you learn your job as you are thrown in with limited support from anyone who truly knows the position you are hired for. Partial paid medical benefits not available until 6 months after start date. Those who have a good work ethic are piled on with more and more responsibility and job duties, while slackers are tolerated as long as they provide laughs to management. Lack of respect for employees from management. No adherence to general rules of conduct in an office environment. For example; I was witness to management calling employees in to their office to watch pornographic videos, hearing employees discussing sex, pornographic videos, speaking with vulgarity about customers after hanging up the phone with them, and allowing long term employees to speak derisively of the many former employees who had chosen to leave within weeks of starting because the work environment was so hostile, in full view and hearing of new hires. Once new hires see how things are and try to discuss their concerns with management, they are treated as if they are spoiling the collegiate atmosphere because management shares what has been discussed with other employees. Totally demoralizing environment.

A lot can change in a year and this review is proof of that. While we strive to provide a casual, friendly work environment for our employees we are very aware that there's a balance to be struck between a workplace's social flexibility and professionalism. It seems at the time you worked for us, things were quite out of balance. Your comments have since been noted and discussed, and great strides have been made to curtail the type of irresponsible behavior you mentioned. We apologize for failing to provide you the professional work environment you deserved and while we wish these changes were properly addressed a year ago, we are happy they are now a thing of the past. Lastly, as mentioned in another reply, we've also revamped our training methodology and employee benefit package to be more in line with other progressive businesses. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to implement much needed change and to look back and see how far we've come. We hope you've found great success wherever you've chosen to work.

Pros

Ok pay and you can pretty much wear whatever you want to work

Cons

Overworked and under paid nothing but favoritism across the board !!!! The only way you get anywhere with this company is if you babysit the bosses kids or if you chauffeur them around on the weekends!!! They only care as long as your killing your self during the busy season!!! As soon as it slows down they could care less about you!!!! Don’t waste your time working here your better off working at BK!!! The benefits suck there’s no 401K oh and no employee handbook or written company policy. As far as personal/vacation days you don’t even know how many you have as they aren’t put on your paycheck and if you ask “management” they take forever to let you know sometimes you won’t find out if you have any until payday!!! The office manager is a big joke the employees don’t respect him and he gossips about other employees to each other like high school. If you do call out don’t tell them why because your personal business will be spread around the office when you return. I could go on but I think my point has been made. When you have complaints to the owner they don’t care and they lie and make promises to appease you for the moment.

One of the things about working in a laid-back business environment is that teamwork often builds out-of-work friendships which, as you mentioned, can culminate in things like babysitting gigs and getting rides with a coworker. We're sad you construed these things as favoritism -- something that's frowned upon in our workplace. The only "favoritism" we like to display these days shows up in bonus checks at the end of the year for team-player employees with a great work ethic. While we haven't yet implemented a company-wide retirement investment program, we have revamped our Employee Handbook and upped our game in the HR department to ensure everyone has access to all the information they need. On top of this, office management is always available to discuss issues that need attention to ensure our employees never feel the need to vent online instead of in person. Thanks for the time you put in with us, and good luck in your future endeavors!
