Pros

Roxoa is a great place to work. There are many opportunities to learn and grow your skills, around other very knowledgeable and specialised supportive colleagues and managers. Weekly 1-2-1's, quarterly appraisals and departmental reviews, ensuring there's ample opportunity to talk which is important in the busy world of e-commerce. Everyone is so lovely, making it such a fun and wholesome place to work. The benefits are great, chill-out areas, private healthcare, location is great (for me), social events (paid for by the company) and incentives to work towards. Monthly performance reviews keep you up to date on how the business is performing as a whole, nothing to hide from management over here. It's the best place I've ever worked by far (coming from someone who left for a more corporate company, and swiftly returned when realisation hit).

Cons

1. The workload can be heavy at times, with four jewellery brands to look after but there's the understanding there from managers in helping prioritise etc which relieves the stress. 2. General communication could always be improved but still far better than any other company I have worked for.

Thanks for your feedback! This is really nice to read, and we're glad to hear that our management team are of benefit to your experience working at Roxoa. We're really proud to be able to offer the additional benefits of full private healthcare and dental cover for each team member, as we put a lot of focus on physical and mental health, and a healthy work/life balance. We're happy to hear the additional 1-2-1s are of benefit. Communication is key, and as you point out, monthly performance reviews are a totally transparent way to show the team how the stores are doing, where the spend is going, and how we're growing together as a team and a company. It surprises us that so many companies don't operate in this way, and hide these kinds of stats. We have taken on board your valuable feedback about the workload, and indeed it can be tough with four stores, especially in peak season. We will do our best to improve how we measure workload so that this can be forecast and we ensure we have additional resources when needed. Thanks again for bringing this up! :)

Pros

Provided a good high-end MacBook & my choice of software for the role; very well-organised technologically/good systems management processes; my inputs and ideas for process management were always taken onboard; regular socials; fun office environment surrounded by sound and friendly people. I enjoyed my time there and was shown flexibility in the face of my unique situation that emerged during my tenure (pre-pandemic)! Good level of freedom in terms of dress code.

Cons

Sometimes a little overly strict and enforcing in terms of times of arrival into the office - as a public transport user this was not always in my hands and could get a bit unfair when a metro broke down! This is only a small thing to note, which did not greatly affect me during my time there. I would say this is all part of a "worker bee mentality" that is fostered and all part of the wider considerations of the management in running a solid, stable and efficient company.

Pros

Most the people are good to work with but ruined due to certain people with more power who are challenging to work with.

Cons

The upper management within this company is very challenging to work with. One would always give me misleading information (about how people were rushing back to work there after leaving and how you aren't allowed to take leave in your notice period at any workplace, just so they could make the most of my time before I left). They would present "facts" about the drawbacks of working from home, always claiming to be flexible when, in reality, they were quite rigid. Not only was the information often misleading, but the respect shown to employees was minimal. Management would talk about employees behind their backs, not realizing they could be overheard from their offices. I also overheard negative comments about other members of my team within the office while they were working remotely. I will not be back in 3 months.

Thanks for your feedback. It's disappointing to hear you had such a terrible experience in your very first job, which was as a Junior Web Developer for eight months. Just to offer you our feedback: you were a lovely person to work with, and an aspiring web developer like many of the rest of the team. We saw some fantastic progress in your time at the company, shared some great experiences, and feedback was positive from both sides throughout. We're always looking to improve, but it isn't clear from this where we went wrong. Although most of our roles are hybrid or remote, you applied for an on-site role for the first year, with a four week notice period. We're sorry that you were upset by this, and we do hope you move onto a role that can fit your expectations. You should make these clear to your employer from the start. You were a highly valued team member, and never shared any concerns of this nature throughout your time at the company. We would have jumped on it right away. You have great potential as a web dev, and we wish you all the very best for future endeavours!
