Pros

Clothing is made well. Everyone but upper management supports one another and really cares about the growth of the brand.

Cons

After a few weeks at RB, one will quickly discover how toxic upper management is. This ultimately is the root of all process misfires, production delays, and high turnover rate with employees. The CEO is extremely hostile and uses a fear inducing management style to get his way. After being verbally ripped apart week after week by him, mostly on the weekends or in the middle of the night, you might try to escalate the issue to the co-founder and president (CEO’s father) since Rowing Blazers does not have an HR representative of any sort. Cronyism? After curating a respectful, clear, and hopeful note, they will never reply and then try to use it against you, indicating exactly how much they really value your contributions and coworkers. This is a lean team and the startup mentality they have to offer is attractive. One of the perks of taking a salary cut is creativity and being part of something exciting. Unfortunately, there is no true freedom and autonomy in your role when the leader doesn’t trust/respect anyone’s work or opinions and is involved in every detail of the company. Get ready to swallow any creative ideas you might have because they’re already wrong. Everyone seems to thrive on the kool aid, alone, but verbal abuse is not worth it no matter where you are; What’s worse is that Rowing Blazers executed a company-wide pay cut due to COVID-19 and didn’t include any parameters as to when or how employees would be paid back.

Pros

Very cool brand, lots of high-profile partnerships, and I got to work closely with the creative director/CEO.

Everybody wears a lot of hats.

Pros

You’ll get to tell people you work at a brand and they might recognize the name.

Cons

If I could give you one piece of life advice, it would be to not work here. It will shave years off your life. You will be told to do things, and then after you do them, be screamed at for doing exactly what you were told. You will be asked your opinion and promptly ignored. You will be called and texted and verbally abused on weekends, at night. You won’t be paid well, you won’t be treated well. All of the positive reviews on this page were written by former high up employees, after being told to do so to even out the low reviews. It’s obvious- isn’t it? Pay close attention to the language they use.
