Pros

The workload is generally manageable, and there isn’t a lot of pressure, which helps maintain a healthy work-life balance. My team is supportive overall, and collaboration is usually smooth and respectful.

Cons

The company culture has deteriorated over time, with a noticeable increase in micromanagement from upper management. The work itself tends to be repetitive and uninspiring, and there’s a lack of clear career progression or long-term growth opportunities. The culture feels more individualistic than collaborative, which can make it harder to feel part of a cohesive team.

Pros

Working at Rover has made me more appreciative over time, not less. Leadership is thoughtful, capable, and accessible. My coworkers are smart, curious, and genuinely good people—I learn from them every day. The team takes Rover’s values seriously and puts people first. The product isn’t perfect, but there’s real momentum to improve, modernize, and deliver more value to customers. It’s refreshing to work somewhere that does good work with good people, without sacrificing work-life balance to get there. I’m grateful for the experience—and aware it’s set a high bar for whatever comes next.

Cons

No workplace is perfect, and Rover isn’t an exception—but the downsides aren’t significant enough to be dealbreakers, in my opinion, especially if you’re looking for a company operating at our current stage and level of maturity.
