Part time was well paid and respected by fellow staff. Was useful to get an understanding of what the roles entailed and I was only teaching alone when I felt comfortable and knew people were only a call a way.

Sometimes the job became troublesome due to a lack of direction offered by my colleagues, as I had just joined it would have been a better help to go over the basics and what needed covering in more depth

I began working at the college in 2005. It was a brilliant place to work. Very student focused and staff were helpful and supportive. Management were, on the whole, approachable and helpful. Some things weren't perfect, but there was a great sense of people pulling together and it was obvious that people really cared about the students.

A change in management culture in 2014 meant the college lost something very special. Bullying by management and low-level, petty bullying between staff made the college a very unpleasant place to work. Students with additional needs, in my opinion, were not treated fairly. I resigned in 2015 after 10 years service, but there was no card, no thank you, like so many, I simply disappeared.
