Your gone every other week while they tell you meals are covered-- I never once recieved a company card nor did they offer to cover my expenses. Which brings me to my next point: they only way to get ANYTHING fixed or done is by going over your managers head to upper management. The "manager" is "too busy" to care about anything else than covering his own mistakes. This "manager" (if you can call him that) is simply the worst I have ever encountered. If he has a problem with you he acts like everything is fine to your face then runs around behind your back to discuss issues that he has with you. There is no training. Unless you call training riding around with drivers, who have no business training because they don't have the time to go into every detail about the job. A leader leads by example, communicates, takes responisbility for those he hires and "trains", and has his guys back no matter what. Do NOT expect this working for this company because you are truly on your own. This manager alone should make you run far away from this job. The pay is horrible and not worth the drama that will happen in your life because of this poor leadership structure. You may be thinking "eh he's just disgruntled." Which is partly true-- I've never had a manager like this one who participated in the kind of assassination of my character as he did; nor did he have the intestinal fortitude to approach me face to face but instead worked off assumptions and presented them to upper management as facts. I spent 6 years in the military and this was my first job outside of the service; it was a wake up call! The lack of leadership development in the private sector is astounding-- how can someone like this be placed in a leadership position? In the service, he wouldn't make it past E-1/grunt status. Every driver/originator I came in contact with could not stand this manager because of his lack of communication/leadership/taking ownership. There is really no advancement opportunities.
