Leaders do not know how to coach or train at this company. If you're looking to grow as an employee this is not the company for you. If you have Healthcare experience and have been working in the software space for a while as a top performer in your role you will probably enjoy working here. The leadership team loves letting your metrics manage you, which means if you are hitting your metrics that's all you need to worry about and vice versa. This can be a tricky management style to uphold at a startup if some departments don't have set metrics that cover every job responsibility. This also doesn't apply to everything, like for example, when a customer complains about an employee. If you are only managing by metrics the important conversations aren't being had. Employees(especially engineering) are consistently being praised for working on the weekend or after hours. This isn't the most strict culture around working overtime I've seen, but also not the best either. They don't care if you leave early or wait to respond to messages until the morning, until they need something "urgent" from you. They are big into repurposing employees. This can be tricky in a startup environment when there is no structure and you need employees with experience to create it. Salary is not competitive. There are very little resources to allow employees to do their jobs well. You have to get scrappy with what you have. Sometimes new resources will emerge, but feedback around that has to come from the top in order to be well received. The only person that can convince the CEO to do something is the CEO.
