Pros

I worked with some very great people and the overall atmosphere was usually pretty chill. The branch would often throw get togethers and we'd all bring in food and gifts to exchange when we were doing good. The warehouse work was overall pretty easy despite headaches with the system we used. Profit sharing and weekly pay were a plus, and we got discounts on the clothing brands we carried. The branch I was at was experiencing a lot of growth, bringing in new customers and expanding their reach.

Cons

The computer system used at my branch was very outdated and not designed to handle the workload we were experiencing. This lead to a lot of unnecessary stress and clashes within the departments, I kept hearing talk of implementing a new and improved system used at the other Ritz branches but this always got pushed back. I witnessed numerous displays of favoritism from the branch manager towards certain associates, at times it lead to me feeling like I constantly had to watch what I did and said. There were a couple of employees who either quit or got fired and rather than replace them their work was shoveled onto other already overwhelmed people. No matter how easy or simple the work is if you pile it onto people it will get to the point where they can't keep up. The place didn't always feel like it was a place of business, some workers brought their kids into work and we'd have them running around the warehouse despite it being an obvious safety and insurance liability. The health and time off benefits were well outdated, you had to wait a year to get PTO and ninety days for lousy insurance.
