Pros

Literally not a single pro

Cons

Terrible place to work. I tried to look past the other reviews but they were all bang on. The only positive review was written by the owner himself, he’s never had an employee stay longer than a few months. Do yourself a favour and avoid working for this company at all cost.

Responding to our past to build our future Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you being candid about your experience. We recognize that for a period of time, we didn't have the internal structure or the culture that our team members deserved. Hearing "bang on" feedback like yours was a wake-up call that led to a complete organizational 180 over the past year. We didn't just "look past" the reviews; we used them as a blueprint for change. RiskX in 2026 is a fundamentally different company than the one you experienced. Here is what has changed since your tenure: A "1% Better" Culture: We have replaced the old top-down approach with a flat organizational structure. We now use a "1% Channel" where every team member provides feedback and helps us improve our systems weekly. National Expansion & Vision: We’ve evolved from a local firm to a national brokerage expanding into Ontario and beyond. Our mission is now focused on industry-leading transparency—disclosing commissions and providing actual value to SMBs across Canada. Investing in Longevity: To address our past turnover, we’ve shifted our focus to long-term employee success. This includes a structured training program and top-tier benefits like a 10% RRSP contribution (no match required) to ensure our team is taken care of for the long haul. Modern Leadership: We have overhauled our leadership structure and sales processes. We are no longer "figuring it out" as we go; we have a fully built-out GTM strategy and clear sales cadences that provide the guidance our team was previously lacking. Companies change, and we’ve learned that our reputation is built on how we treat our people. While we didn't get it right during your time here, those lessons have been built into the foundation of the thriving company we are today. We genuinely wish you the best in your current role. I am always open to a professional dialogue if you’d ever like to hear more about the specific systems we’ve implemented to fix the issues you raised. Best regards, Jarod Smith Chief Growth Officer, RiskX

Pros

I had the privilege of working with RiskX for nearly five months, and I can confidently say it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my career so far. One of the standout features of my time at RiskX was the strong leadership. Management is transparent, approachable, and genuinely cares about the personal and professional growth of employees. I appreciated the clear communication regarding company goals and expectations, which made it easy to understand my role in the bigger picture. Regular feedback sessions helped me stay on track and grow, both as an individual and as a professional. During my time here, I was given ample opportunities to challenge myself and develop new skills. RiskX invests in its employees and provides resources, training, and the freedom to take on new responsibilities. I was able to take on projects that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and the experience has enhanced my skill set significantly. The company understands the importance of work-life balance. They offer flexible working hours, and the overall approach to managing workloads helps prevent burnout. I always felt I could prioritize my personal life without compromising my professional responsibilities.

Cons

I can't find any cons.

Thank you for being part of our mission Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing your experience with RiskX. It was a pleasure having you on the team, and we are thrilled to hear that you found your time here rewarding. We have worked hard to build a culture of transparency and growth, and hearing that our regular feedback sessions and training resources made a tangible impact on your skill set is exactly what we strive for. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who joins RiskX—whether part-time or full-time—feels supported and empowered to take on new challenges. As we continue our national expansion, we remain committed to our 1% better every day philosophy and maintaining the work-life balance that allows our team to thrive. We believe that by investing in our people and providing clear, structured systems, we can continue to solve the transparency problem in the Canadian benefits industry together. Thank you again for your hard work and for the advice to management. We appreciate you! Best regards, Jarod Smith, CGO

Pros

Absolutely Zero please listen to the other reviewers they are 110 percent spot on.

Cons

The main issues with this company are they try to harp on Sales Strategies that have worked 30 years ago and were successful back then. One key driver is they will try to sell you on you being the cornerstone of the company, as soon as you try to implement any change in the organization you are going to be met with large ego’s from the owners and they will basically threaten your employment. Through experience this type of management style never works. All be it extremely unprofessional and inappropriate work environment where extremely rude and condescending statements are made. Wish I could post these here because those will deter you alone. Again I can go on for days and days about why you shouldn’t join this organization but please listen to the reviews and your gut and avoid this company at all costs.

A lot has changed at RiskX—Thank you for the perspective Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate the perspective on your experience with us from about a year ago. We believe in transparency and want to address your points directly as they relate to who we are today. While we are proud of our 32-year history, we recognize that during your tenure, we were in a significant period of transition. At that time, we lacked the refined systems and training required to effectively scale a virtual sales team. Since then, we have taken a hard look at our operations and made a "180-degree turn" to ensure we are building a world-class environment for our people. Here is how we have evolved GTM Strategy & Offer: We have completely overhauled our Go-To-Market strategy. Our offer is now clear and concise, backed by data-driven sales processes and cadences that guide our team from onboarding to their first close. A "1% Better" Culture: We’ve moved to a flat organizational structure where the best ideas win, regardless of source. We now utilize a "1% Channel" where the entire team reviews their weekly wins and areas for improvement, fostering a culture of mutual support and constant growth. Top-Tier Benefits: We believe a healthy team environment is just as important as client results. To ensure our team members are taken care of for their future, we recently implemented a 10% RRSP contribution (no match required)—a benefit we believe is among the most competitive in Canada. Diversity & Inclusion: Our team now spans the entire country. We actively hire from diverse backgrounds across Canada, including both Canadian-born individuals and immigrants. We are deeply committed to an inclusive environment where identity is respected and celebrated. Companies change, and people change. While we didn't have the structure in place that you were looking for a year ago, those lessons helped us build the thriving, professional organization we have today. We are far from perfect, but we are committed to excellence and to listening to our team. I am always open to constructive dialogue and would be happy to connect over the phone if you’d like to chat further about these changes. Please feel free to reach out to me directly. We genuinely wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors. If you are ever open to it, we would be happy to have a conversation to show you how far we’ve come. Best regards, Jarod Smith, CGO
