Fundamentally broken organization with toxic culture and hostile management - Clinical Director Rising for Justice Employee Review

Pros

Lots of work providing meaningful support and representation to struggling clients. Lots of experience comes quickly.

Cons

There is no reason why anybody should join this organization at the moment. The management is so single-mindedly anti-union that it stopped holding staff meetings or communicating with staff except to dress people down, and has pushed out almost every long-term employee in the space of a few months. Pay is bad and benefits are worse, and management nickels and dimes staff over reimbursements and demands to be paid back for administrator’s errors. There are not enough resources or staff left in the organization to do meaningful work. The management is openly hostile to the staff when they’re not asleep at the switch and the Board isn’t interested in the collapse of the organization. Do not work here. Any attempt to build a better organization is futile until management changes. Morale is awful; it’s a toxic and abusive environment. My former coworkers and I are still unpacking our trauma. Supervision and management are nonexistent; mistakes are common as a result and eventually somebody is going to commit a major ethical violation and get in trouble.
