The atmosphere felt more focused on oversight than fostering a shared passion for hospitality.

They don't train you well/long enough before expecting you know everything they need from you. If the owner isn't happy with your performance, she may say something in front of other employees, making you feel uncomfortable, instead of saying something in private.
