Pros

The possibility of working on cutting edge research and working on something that MAY change the world is cool. It makes for a good dinner party conversation.

Cons

1) This place is basically for those who don't want grad school or a post doc to end. Not a real job. 2) It's completely unclear if quantum computing will ever turn into anything, and if it does, it's unclear if superconducting electronics will be the winner. 3) Low Pay and extreme unlikelihood that the company will ever convert your ownership stake into anything tangible. If you are the sole breadwinner for a family and older than early 30's this is not a sensible place. 3) CEO is unstable, rude, and not realistic

Pros

Rigetti is great place to grow in a number of dimensions as a software engineer. You will be surrounded by talented mathematics and scientists. Their discipline is infectious and you will likewise be treated with respect if you bring a strong software skill set to bear on the company mission. This is not a place to come work if you want to be the star of the show or catch a rocket to the moon (quantum computing is a long term technology). But if you like to grow technically in a number of dimensions, this is a good place.

Cons

The company is not new and the industry is still in an R&D phase. Technical challenges lie ahead before financial sustainability.

Pros

Nothing comes to mind - place was awful - left the minute the opportunity presented itself

Cons

Everything here was awful - tons of cons - too many to list completely Management was highly political, unfocused, unprepared Monitoring was non-existent Teams competed against each other instead of working together Non-trivial was the catch phrase for not doing the right thing ("collaboration" here was a joke)
