Where to begin? During my tenure, Workrise has been plagued by a constantly shifting strategy and focus, resulting in a revolving door of leadership. In 2024 alone, we saw three different CEOs, not to mention the abrupt release of the CRO, Head of Customer Success, and the entire Marketing team. Critical roles in Operations and other departments were also eliminated in a string of seemingly impulsive layoffs.
The company operates with no clear strategic direction or shared context. Goals are broad, unrealistic, and often unmeasurable, leaving teams confused and demoralized. Financial targets are equally unattainable, and when these egregious benchmarks aren't met, it’s the employees who suffer the consequences.
Transparency and accountability are glaringly absent at the leadership level. Decisions are made without input or explanation, leaving employees in the dark about the future and the steps needed to achieve success. It’s hard to feel secure or motivated in such an environment, and the extreme lack of leadership accountability exacerbates the issue.
Lastly, this company will work you into the ground. The lack of clear priorities and constant upheaval make it nearly impossible to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
