Pros
Close community, beautiful campus, good retirement benefits, interesting community events to participate in (on campus lectures, concerts and performances in music department etc.). Depending on specifically what department you work, there can be a really stimulating, collaborative work environment, job stability.
Cons
Pay per hour for administrative and support staff is pretty low, depending on which department(s) you work with/in, there can be a lot of red tape to wade through, health benefits, although good, are pretty expensive, in admin type jobs you will have job stability, but relatively few advancement opportunities.
