Pros

If you can move past the cons it’s a great starter company. Learn what you can and move on. Once the owner takes off the rose colored glasses it’s a possibility the this company can turn around and more than a career starter.

Cons

This is a vile organization rife with favoritism, nepotism, and schism. Ricca Chemical is led by a woman with a chip on her shoulder, who uses segregation, fear, and gossip to achieve unattainable and unrealistic goals. Employees are underpaid, overworked, and frequently underappreciated. Being the face of an LLC and carrying yourself in such a sloppy and trashy manner is frowned upon and definitely unrespected by the organization. Working with or for someone with sociopathic behavior and lack of empathy and care is depressing. This isn't a smear campaign; it's a real depiction of the toxicity that the President heaps on the lower ranks. The door is open dependent on your “working class." Laborers are the oil that keeps the enterprise running. You are only as strong as your leader with the current management in place they try their best to fight for their team and respected colleagues, but are daily fight a losing battle. At some point, you stop interjecting, you stop giving opinions, because the fall on deaf eyes and you may be at risk of losing your job. The fragility of egos are strictly in place and over ran by power hungry individual who desperately needs a reality check.

Pros

During my time at Ricca Chemical Company, I valued several aspects of the role. I worked alongside skilled colleagues who demonstrated strong teamwork and were supportive of one another. The work offered good variety in chemical blending tasks, which kept things engaging. My direct supervisor was particularly supportive and invested in his team's success. The position allowed me to develop valuable transferable skills in chemical manufacturing, safety protocols, and following detailed procedures. The company maintained clear batch procedures and safety requirements, which provided structure for completing work accurately and safely.

Cons

The company's approach to performance management could have been more transparent - I would have appreciated earlier communication if concerns were developing about my work. The incident reporting system, while well-intentioned for safety purposes, sometimes attributed equipment and PPE failures to individual employees rather than identifying them as systemic issues. This created confusion about accountability. Additionally, when I requested documentation following my termination to better understand the decision, the company declined to provide my personnel records. In hindsight, clearer expectations around incident reporting thresholds and more regular feedback throughout the year would have been helpful for everyone involved.
