Pros

RG is a fantastic company to be involved in. The vision and the message behind everything we do is completely genuine which can really be felt when we come together as a company (days such as the GBU, parties etc). RG is always looking for ways to interrupt the market, and it amazing working for a company which is so forward thinking, and it is great to have CEO who is so open and honest with tackling tricky questions from the staff. RG makes promises to their people which it sticks to, things such as the equality report, the technology road map and really feeling like your voice is being heard makes you feel part of the organisation. The investment in people is there, and the suite of benefits is good as well. The belief in company culture and values is also amazing, and teams such as ASAP and the Culture team ensure that it is protected, and at the forefront of everything that we do. Glenn is very inspirational, it is a shame I started when we were a bit bigger so don't see him around in the office very often as I feel I could learn a lot from him. Seeing him at our Seminars is brilliant and his weekly blogs are great! Glenn is the biggest asset to RG. My direct manager is amazing, he does his best for the team and we have cultivated a brilliant atmosphere. There is a lot of valuable training and I really feel he has my best interest at heart and wants to help me develop my career. He is the best manager i’ve had in any job.

Cons

Currently, there has been a lot of change due to bad sales figures in the London Office. Everyone knew that something needed tp change, however, I am astounded how long this took to happen. I feel that a lot of people in more senior positions are there, not through skill or talent but just because they have worked at RG for a long time. RG seems to be a company which people bleieves in trianing people up the role and developing them which is good, however I think we need some fresh eyes and talent from the industry. There is a lot of hot air around the sales team which is expected, however idue to the lack of sales I am still in aue with how this has been allowed to go on and go and performnce, and consistency of deals has been been highlighted sooner. Since loosing the head of consultancy, the team has drastically improved in terms of sales etc and there seems to be a new lease of life in the tem, however i feel we have also lost some of our "open and honest" communucations. I know at least 5 people, included myself, who are worried about their the future of their jobs, or their role changing in the organisation. I am not scared of changed, and I welcome it with open arms if it means that sales performance will go up however, we were told about 4 weeks ago something would change and still have not been communicated to about it, for roles such as researchers or reps this is quite daunting. Lots of new ides have been thrown around and no one seems to know what is going on, or what will be expected of them and we still haven't heard when this will be communicated out. Change is good, but something I feel at RG it is put into motion haphazardly before considering the effects on the staff. I know things needs to happen sooner rather than later, but I feel there needs to be a better plan in place.

Hi there, It’s Glenn here, thanks for such an honest and open review. It’s fantastic that you see all of the positives of working here and I guess that’s why you feel engaged enough to take the time to really explain how you feel about where the London sales team is. I’m really happy and grateful for that. I was with the Director responsible, Shelley at lunchtime and we read your thoughts together. There isn’t anything in there either of us would disagree with or pull out. Like I said in the Q3 results announcement, sales performance this year has been mixed. Australia is well ahead of target and doing a greta year, USA is just about on budget and could outperform if one particular client gets approval this week an UK-Birmingham just did its best ever quarter. The UK-London team hasn’t delivered what we hoped despite a lot of hard work by a team of really good people and thats disappointing to us all. It’s great that you’ve seen a real turnaround in the 5 weeks since Shelley took over and I understand your point about being surprised it took so long. Looking back with hindsight gives you 20/20 vision in these circumstances. If I think back then UK-London ended Q1 just about on budget, at the end of Q2 we were ahead, albeit with the niggling worry that we had one very large win that really helped and at the end of Q2 we were reporting a great pipeline and some “deal timing slippage”. It was really during Q3 that the deal timing started to unravel and by the time we’d completed the global restructure we realized that UK-London likely had organizational and process issues. Shelley announced that she’d be looking at the team structure and would look to see if changes would help us be in a position to win better and more efficiently. That was 4 weeks ago and I can understand that that feels like a long time when you’re not knowing what the outcome is. the truth is that Shelley was away on pre-planned vacation for 2 weeks of that and in the other 2 she’s been working as closely as possible with everyone to understand what changes will be useful. When I spoke to Shelley today she actually had a slide deck on her screen where she was organizing her thoughts. I understand that knowing your department is under review is unsettling and you want to know quickly what will happen. We need to balance that need for speed with actually taking the time to do what is right, not what seems obvious but might turn out to be wrong. On communicating openly and honestly, if we were holding back anything then I would take that on the chin, but I feel that we are being honest in that Shelley has nothing to communicate today, and as soon as she has she will. I do also appreciate though that you want to know, and we need to balance that against giving Shelley time to assess and make the right call. It won’t be too much longer I think. I’ll keep working with all of the team on open and honest communication - my acid test is “do we know something that our people do not” and the honest answer to that is no. We often get feedback that we communicate too quickly - I’d rather be quick than delay. But I do understand where you are with the uncertainty and I wish I could fix it today for you. I can’t but I don;t think it will take long. So hang in there! I was in with you all in the London sales team this morning and the buzz felt good. The quarter is closing much better than Q3 did and we’ve had some great wins this quarter with the overall number looking much better than many of us thought that it would. It’s nice to see deal frequency come back up so quickly and it really motivates everyone in RG now we’re getting used to seeing our “new client” email every couple of days again. You’re clearly a hugely engaged and motivated person and we’re lucky to have you on the team. I really hope we can get everyone back to a place of certainty in the next week or so. Thanks again for your open and honest feedback. G

Pros

Before being acquired by EdenRed, RG was a decent company with lower than average salaries but a higher than average focus on benefits and a healthy culture of transparent communication. Doug led with empathy and respect. After he left and Nick Burns became CEO, everything went downhill fast.

Cons

- Tons of layoffs and offshoring labor to cut costs. Leadership openly talked about how roles that were cut or vacated would be left unfilled, with those remaining expected to pick up the slack. - There is almost zero pathway to progression internally. - The product vision is unclear and there is little to no innovation; product is outdated and stale. - Leadership is toxic and does not take accountability for poor decision making. - Honestly everything here was terrible other than my coworkers, who were awesome but so demoralized by the direction of the company that every day left everyone burned out and demotivated. - There's a toxic culture of being expected to put on a happy face and pretend everything is fine, lots of talk of being a family, and then being gaslit by leadership left and right. For being a company with a vision statement of "Appreciation appreciates" (which honestly, what does that even mean lol), you sure will feel not only unappreciated, you'll feel like you're completely dispensable to the company regardless of your performance. And that's because you are completely dispensable.
