Pros

I am a current employee. I enjoy working here and have learned a lot since I joined this company (over 1.5 years). Disappointed to see people saying that benefits are non existent, given the size of the company, its pay is better than similar size companies with vacation, holiday and Sick Days. We also have 100% employer funded health insurance. The business (both CRO and Grants) is growing and company's future prospects looks promising. It has a fast pace environment.

Cons

If you are not a very organized person, this place is not for you. Willingness to devote 100% is expected, which I think is reasonable.

Pros

The reason I only stayed as long as I did (3 months) was because of my coworkers, NOT the CEO. The only thing I learned from this job was how to quit and stand my ground when you are abused at work.

Cons

1. CEO is micromanaging. Even to the PhD's he will stand there to make sure they know how to pipet. If you accidentally mis-speak data, he will discipline you in front of your coworkers, which is extremely unprofessional. 2. You will work 7AM-7PM, 5 days a week, and on most weekends. No extra compensation. Lunch only 0.5 hours, in which he will find you during your lunch and think you are slacking. No joke. This is EVERYDAY, not just some days. 3. Threatened to not pay other employees if someone else did not get their work done. 4. Impossible deadlines with no room for assay optimization. This is where he will threaten not to pay for the weeks you have worked on the project AND not pay your coworkers. 5. It is also a red flag when you start work and no one has ever lasted over 6 months at the company. He expects his limited number of employees to work 2-3 person tasks. Yes, you will learn how to multitask to avoid being yelled at, but if you really want to learn this skill, find a better nurturing environment to do so. This is terrible working and learning environment. Just ask any other previous employee.
