Pros

- Great place to be a Web Developer. Lots of opportunity to grow and learn complex new systems and frameworks. - Very supportive dev department, Dev managers will have your back and push you to succeed and grow - Decent career progression skills wise, pay was ok - Work parties were fun - Some of the business folk "get it" when it came to SDLC and were great to work with

Cons

- Some of the most absurdly toxic HR policies you've ever heard of. Sick time was taken was treated like you slapped every HR persons mother in the mouth. You would be put on notice for as little a 3 days of sick time. - Serious issues with inter-office politics with low performers from non-dev departments blatantly sucking up to HR/management and getting away with producing poor results - Developers get blamed for everything by the non-dev departments - Willful ignorance of market realities. RTO, project shifts, and industry trends were often snap decisions that were made opaquely and folks were expected to roll with it without question. - A lot of work was being exported to other offices, at the cost of quality and timeliness and it was starting to show

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your time at resulta. We’re glad you appreciated the support of our dev team, opportunities for growth, and the culture we work hard to build. We’d like to address some of the concerns you raised. Our current sick leave policy, implemented over two years ago, is flexible by design. It allows employees to take the time they need without undue stress or concern. This approach reflects our trust in our team and our commitment to their well-being. We understand this may differ from past policies, but we’re proud of the flexibility and understanding it offers. Transparency and collaboration are priorities for us, and we’ve made significant progress through initiatives like our internal Culture Compass survey. We’ve seen our Culture Compass scores increase consistently since its implementation, and we’re incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made on this journey. Performance is another area we’ve focused on. With last year’s updated performance model and this year’s rollout of a goals-focused approach, we’re ensuring consistent standards and accountability across all departments. These changes are designed to set clear expectations and support high performance across the board. We respectfully disagree with some of your more negative comments. We have confidence in our HR and management teams, who play a vital role in shaping and supporting our culture. While we know there’s always room to improve, the strides we’ve made in recent years demonstrate our commitment to learning and evolving. Thank you again for your contributions and feedback.

Pros

- They pay for your cellphone bill and health insurance - There were once some awesome people who worked here, however, they are all quitting - Work/life balance is pretty good - HR are lovely and they do care, unfortunately they are handcuffed by an incompetent and unqualified executive team who are simply in those roles due to seniority in the industry and being friends with each other. - The ex-CEO is a great person and there are very faint traces of his legacy left - key term: very faint. New leadership has destroyed this place.

Cons

- A workplace where dreams go to die - When I started here, I was ambitious, confident and celebrated in my field. When I left, I was so torn down, abused and defeated that I questioned whether I was good enough to be working within my discipline and was considering a full career change.

 - Extreme sexism, gaslighting and abuse. Newcomers to Canada are often paid far less than their white counterparts for the same roles. Women are routinely passed over for promotions and treated with an immense double standard in comparison to their male counterparts. - Many recruiters in Eastern Canada gave told me directly that they don’t want to touch this place with a ten foot pole because its reputation has gotten to be so bad. -
Client industries are legally questionable at best. This creates extreme secrecy and an environment that's okay with bending the rules, trickling into how employees are treated and what kind of behaviour is tolerated.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, however these are very serious allegations we’d like the opportunity to address. Our HR team works to partner with the business and our executive leadership at all levels of the organization. If you’ve experienced any situation with sexism, gaslighting or abuse we take that extremely seriously and we strongly urge you to get in touch with our HR department so that we can discuss further. Our compensation policies are fair and just, and do not discriminate against anyone, regardless of gender or ethnicity. We promote as often as possible internally, and focus on developing our front line employees and managers through our LMS, DEIB training, and career development. If this was your actual experience with us, we hope you will reach out to our HR team to provide us with more situational information.
