If I had to sum it up in one word: boring.
There are no opportunities for career advancement, pay is below minimum wage, micromanaging, no team dynamics, easy for employees to feel demotivated.
Web manager was prone to frequent outbursts which were most if not always related to personal issues outside work. Very distracting and difficult to ignore even with headphones on.
Even though this position could be remote web employees were always expected to be at their desk and observed to ensure they’re actually working. Even when there were disruptions due to internet connections or servers and bad weather. However customer service people were allowed to work from home.
