Pros
Interesting, innovative products that really help people - not just nice apps or cool toys, but devices that literally change peoples lives: so there is a string feel-good factor. A good balance of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit with high quality and engineering excellence, and freedom to do great work rather than just meet deadlines. Stimulating cross discipline engineering teams: elec, mech, software and system eng all working together. Great location, great facilities (gym, pool, light and spacious buildings). People are key and, in my department at least, they are well treated and actively encouraged to grow and develop. Can you tell I've only been here a few months and I'm loving it?
Cons
ResMed is a complicated beast, with a heavy weight of regulatory approval to manage - but that's what you'd expect working with medical devices. The move to more Agile processes has created some confusion and lack of direction... but I think we're working through that. Don't always get enough marketing input into our engineering teams.
