Pros

In general, the staff was pleasant and upbeat. If service-oriented work is what you are interested in, they have a wide variety of groups they are partnered with.

Cons

I was only at Repair The World for a week. I had completed the onboarding process and began to come up with projects with my partner and supervisor. But on Friday I received an email saying that the director wanted to speak with me about my "fit for the role". They read off what was essentially the job description: saying they wanted someone with more ties to community leaders, who could project manage, and overall had more professional experience. They told me that would be my last day and they'd pay me for my week of work. I don't understand the point of conducting multiple interviews and checking references if not to be thorough. Putting my own feelings aside, that entire experience was incredibly unprofessional. When I asked how this could happen, they could not offer me a direct answer, I was not there long enough to give a comprehensive review. But I think this reflects very poorly on the organization. Take my experience and decide for yourself if this who you want to be your employer.
