Pros

Business seems to be doing well. Technical bar is high.

Cons

Startups naturally go through growing pains. But in Render's case, leadership does not support their employees. Voluntary attrition, burnout, and team thrash have been high. More people are leaving than hiring can keep up with. Diversity of underrepresented gender and race are lacking.

Pros

I'll keep this brief as I'm wearing a sleeping 7 week old right now. I started the job at 7 months pregnant and the team was so supportive, helping me get off to a great start and be super productive in just a few short months before going on leave. I love that the Render platform allows teams to build and scale fast and that we're a major player on the growing AI ecosystem. I've worked at several early stage startups and this one has the smartest, kindest, and most thoughtful people. Additionally, the company is structured in a very mature, organized, sustainable way-- surprisingly well set-up for its size. I'm excited to get back to work soon and grow with this awesome team!

Cons

Startups move fast and you need to be able to roll with the punches sometimes! Not a real con though, just par for the course, I think. Also, work-life-balance can be challenging at times because the teams are lean, but people are really respectful of boundaries that you set with your own schedule, home/life responsibilities etc. I personally need to get better at knowing my limits and blocking my calendar as such.

Pros

Render has been a genuinely special place to work. There are many AI companies building on Render, and it’s exciting to see the platform evolving into the cloud that helps AI applications scale faster and more reliably. What really stands out though is how genuine and talented the people are. There are a lot of smart teams in tech, but at Render it's paired with genuine kindness, low ego, and a strong sense of collaboration, which is quite rare across other companies where teams consistently battle with each other. The culture feels thoughtful and grounded, not hype-driven or ruthless. People care deeply about solving real problems for developers, and that shows up in how decisions are made. From the CEO and exec team to managers and ICs, people are approachable, helpful, and open to debate and collaboration. Disagreements are handled with respect, and decisions are driven by reasoning rather than noise or trends. The company has been growing quickly, especially through product led growth. It has significantly increased hiring recently, bringing in fresh talent and new energy, which is nice. The newer sales and marketing teams are adding momentum which will hopefully further speed up the growth.

Cons

I feel that we are the best kept secret at times. I wish we are much louder in the market, but hopefully that will be better as we have a growing GTM team. Like many fast-growing companies, things are still evolving. Things are continuing to mature as the company scales, which can mean ambiguity at times. That said, leadership is very open to feedback and improvement, which makes this feel like a shared challenge rather than a frustrating one.
