Cons
Personally, I don't have many cons, however, I do want to help provide context for things that certain personality types may not find as appealing: • Fully Remote Work Isn't For Everyone Some of us LOVE remote work, but it's best for you to know going in what best fits your needs). We still have tons of time working with coworkers in calls, but you don't get as much of the so-called "water cooler talk" that other places might provide. Some people really appreciate that, so it's worth considering as you look into working full-time remotely. Luckily, between meetings and Slack, I still feel like I'm in constant conversations though. It may look different than your traditional workplace, but for me it fills that need perfectly! • Time Tracking In any service-based industry, particularly agency settings that provide clients with a certain number of hours per month, time tracking is just a necessary evil. No one loves having to track their time, but it's something that makes total sense. The goal is not to micromanage, but to provide transparency to the client on where the time they paid for is spent. As someone who used to HATE time tracking and never thought I would be willing to work in a setting that had it, I was fortunate to have help from the team on some easy ways for me to adjust my working style to include time tracking without a huge change to my day-to-day. Plus, Remotish actually includes time tracking as an internal item to track so that you get paid for it. That's not always the case with places! • This Job is Hard Work May sound strange to see this one, but the reality is not everyone wants to work in a setting where you're going to have to push yourself to grow. The team here really knows their stuff, and although that can be intimidating, they are incredibly generous in sharing insights with one another. With Remotish's commitment to more work-life balance, this means that you have to be efficient with your time. Some people like jobs where you can mostly waste time and still get your work done. That's not the case here. The benefit of working with such talented people is it holds you accountable to get better yourself (like working out with a group). So you work fewer hours (which is awesome), but those hours are busier because you truly make sure you do work doing those times. Something to keep in mind for those who may not be ready for that!
