Pros

Fully remote company.I believe the work environment for most teams are overall OK. While the work/life balance isn't great it is good that they do allow for a mostly async work nature. "Mostly" because most managers still hold an expectation that you work fairly standard hours within a preferred timezone. Similarly they said you can work from anywhere but don't be surprised if you get subtle or less than subtle push-back against it. But compared to most companies they are very flexible so I think it is a net-positive. There are quarterly self-care days to use and this helps work/life balance too. Most people are positive/friendly and this helps a lot.

Cons

The type of employer they've sold themselves to be is not true once you work there. Something I believe and hear is "I worked here for x reason but x reason is not true." So all in all I would say mute your expectations because there is a lot of overselling happening whether by recruiters, employer branding, or public talks managers have. If you come to the company with the mindset that they're just like any other employer you should be OK but if you buy into the idea this company is anything special as an employer than you will probably be disappointed. Questionable salary philosophy. In the beginning it was unfair and inconsistent for most people, got better, but is now stagnant and you only get an annual raise if you're one of the few "high performers". So if you signed up at one point thinking this was going to be a fair and equitable company then you would be mistaken, and

Thank you for the review. It’s disheartening to hear that you are having this experience at Remote. We don’t ever want to be like any other company, so we appreciate the feedback on areas where you think we can do better. We’re glad you are feeling some of the benefits of the flexibility, quarterly self-care days, and asynchronous schedules we offer. We wish we had more details about the push-back you felt about working from anywhere, and we would appreciate if you reach out to your People partner and discuss this feedback in detail.

If you're looking for a quick hire, having multiple interviews is not for you
