Pros

Some of the staff are good. When I say some I mean the one that's left. Location. Home time.

Cons

Micro management. If you don't like the pub you'll go nowhere. Claim parking is a benefit but its the smallest carpark going and is falling apart. Building leaks, very scruffy and boiler may as well not be there as it doesn't work. Cares more about making money than customers or staff. I understand making money is key, but they have no principles or morals as people. Made to feel bad for leaving on time. Not allowed to talk in office, but senior staff/management can talk all day about nonsense. Unexpected live events where made out to be my problem when they were completely unavoidable and unexpected. Massive staff turnover. Definition of winging it (Not alot of structure) Understand IT is sometimes a reactive industry, but nothing proactive about these guys. No escalation point most of the time. Expected overtime with no pay. Cant have lunch at same time as colleagues (unless you're a manager)

Pros

just generic stuff all companies provide,

Cons

Extremely fast-paced with no proper training provided, especially for IT engineers. You're expected to hit the ground running with minimal support. Very limited opportunities for career progression or professional development. Micromanagement is common, and there's little room to make independent decisions. Mistakes, even minor ones, are penalized rather than used as learning opportunities—there is little to no support in resolving them. Colleagues and management may take credit for your work. Poor teamwork and ineffective management contribute to a stressful environment. There's an unspoken expectation to stay late after your shift ends, and not doing so is frowned upon. Recovering owed time off is difficult, but if you're late or need time, it's immediately deducted or expected back the next day. Company culture is heavily influenced by socializing at the pub—if you're not part of that scene, you may feel excluded or overlooked. Lack of proper planning means shifts are often understaffed, increasing stress when there’s no cover. Timesheets must be completed outside of work hours. Requests for pay raises are often met with scrutiny—management may look for faults to deny your request or even place you on probation. High staff turnover, especially in the Helpdesk team, where employees have been dismissed quickly for clashing with team leaders or speaking out. Internal communication is poor. Staff meetings or emails are infrequent, and when they do happen, they focus almost entirely on negative feedback—there's rarely any positive recognition or motivation for the team.

Pros

Good small MSP to build up experience if you’re early in your IT career — you’ll get exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra, Exchange, networking (FortiGate/WatchGuard/Unifi), virtualization, Veeam, and a wide variety of customer environments. Fast-paced MSP environment forces you to sharpen troubleshooting skills quickly. Good mixture of office based and onsite work.

Cons

High workload with constant pressure to keep billable hours in line, even when tickets realistically take longer. Can feel like you’re being pulled in two directions: quality vs speed. Majority of work is done on the fly with no proper planning i.e. no project managers, not time allocated for documenting work afterwards and questions raised for spending time working on tasks not director approved. Standard IT best practices are often overlooked — no ITIL processes, no formal change management, and no structured root cause analysis. Processes and documentation aren’t always consistent, so you often have to figure things out yourself or reinvent the wheel. Limited progression opportunities beyond 2nd line unless you move into management or leave for a bigger MSP. Hosted IT infrastructure is run on a shoestring, with limited investment in enterprise-grade equipment. Pay is ok for MSP work, but not as competitive as some other IT companies in the region.
