Pros

Opportunities, stress free, exciting, friendly are all words that spring to mind immediately. There is no micro managers here. Meet your production goals and you progress. These goals are clearly communicated by your manager who forms a team where approximately 80% once sat in your seat proving that there are advancement ops for capable people.

Cons

employee turnover can be high as the mortgage industry goes through its ups and downs, more an issue of the industry than that of this specific company. The basement restaurant is expensive for mediocre food again outside the control of the company. It snows in winter but I choose to live in Minnesota if I didn't like it I would leave.

Pros

I worked a later shift that accommodated the rest of my schedule. Training supplied was quick, but thorough. If successful in the first week or so, you will be trained for new responsibilities and work with another 'team' while still working for your original team. You get trained on basics and if you're good enough advance in skill level from there. This kept what may have become boring much more tolerable and engaging.

Cons

Contractor pay is low. I was hired through a staffing agency so I cannot speak to what benefits the company itself provides.

Pros

Not Much. Able to work out of my home office and make my own hours. Decent benefits, and reimbursment for mileage

Cons

Worked for Rels for about 18 months and was recenlty "let go" due to working for outside appraisal companies on my own time and equipment. Why, because the pay here is horrible and I needed to supplement my income somehow. They take a fixed amount out of billings every two weeks amounting to $5600 off the top, then they pay you 40% of whats left over. Plus a bare minimum hourly wage. I have had busy weeks and my 2 week Net was not even half of my billings. Someone is racking it in, and it is not the appraiser. They only care about on time reports, not quality reports. They have a team of reviewers and managers that micro manage everything, and try to "persuade" you. Reported someone on apprasiser independence, 1 month later I am gone. No warnings, no discussions, no exit interview, very unprofessional atmosphere. Manager never returned calls or emails for imprortant issues. No vaction, no sick time, no holiday pay. Not allowed to decline reports. Basically a slave to the company 24/7.
