Pros

I have been working for Relovv since it's beginning, so I know ALL of the ins and outs. Being at this company has pushed me to grow more than any experience has in my whole life. All of the positions at Relovv are rewarding - when you give it your all. There is ample opportunity for collaboration with C-suite as an intern and the culture is extremely supportive of individual ideas/ agency. The CEO WANTS team-members to succeed and will give you every opportunity to do so. She is all about supporting her team, whether they be interns or upper level employees/ admin. She will push you to be the best you can be and is truly one of those people who will leave a lasting, positive impact on your life. Specifically, the internship is designed to cultivate young individuals' ability to be strong thinkers, hard workers, and master super valuable social media techniques. If you are looking for an internship to challenge you and TEACH you, Relovv is the right place. If you aren't willing to learn and grow, this internship is probably not for you. As for admin jobs, your agency, ideas, and concerns ACTUALLY matter here and are just as valuable as the founders'. I really feel as though I am making a difference through my work and LOVE coming to work every day.

Cons

Not a con, just an FYI. Relovv is a startup, so, you have to be willing to roll with the punches. Startup life is all about challenge, growth, pace, and understanding. If you aren't able to take critique, "no's", and advice as motivation to GROW, startup culture in general is probably not the right alley for you. Moreover, work-life balance is more like a circle rather than a binary (as common in any startup ) Startup jobs are LIFESTYLES that you have to be willing to live out. If you love your job (as I do), it comes naturally.

Relovv Response
6y
As a less than 1 year old startup, we greatly appreciate your response as we grow. We are so happy to hear that this educational experience was beneficial to you. That is our highest priority and goal. We know working at a startup is atypical with regards to scheduling and infrastructure. We appreciate your flexibility and are happy to hear this was a positive part of your experience.

Pros

I interned with Relovv last summer and it was a lot different from my other internships. I did this one for college credit and was simply hoping to get hours to pass my college’s internship course. As the summer went on, I actually began to devote a lot more time to the internship because I actually felt like I was making a difference, not just logging hours. The company is really small, so it allows you to work closely with the CEO and other employees. Because of this, I was able to give direct feedback about what I liked, what I thought Relovv could do better, and what I thought could be improved. The structure of the internship also works really well if you do it remotely like me (I know there are some interns based in LA who are able to go into the office) Because I worked remote, I was able to finish assignments late at night (I’m a night owl). I found it really helpful to be able to do this rather than having to go into an internship every day after class. I would really recommend this internship for someone who is a self-motivated worker.

Cons

If you procrastinate, the work can be a little hard to catch up on, so make sure you have a plan for time-management.
